Casual Collecting
I'm contemplating starting a collection of Garchomp items along with all the Espurr/Meowstic things I have. But the thing is, I don't really want to go hardcore into it. Is that fine? Like I love Garchomp. I've had about six on my teams and they always become my babies but seeing how some people get EVERYTHING while I like to casually collect... Hm. I wonder if that's seen as poor collecting or not?

Like if I was to describe my collection I would say I have a lot more Dialga, Sylveon, Espurr & Meowstic than I have some of the other things. But Pokemon isn't my main passion (deadmau5 is, haha). I don't know. You see some collections and it's like HOLY SHIT but I don't know if I want to go that hardcore. We'll see. I wouldn't mind more Dialga stuff though. Like Garchomp, Dialga, and Giratina are my babies. I didn't even really use my Espurr/Meowstic to fight, they were on my team to be cute ha ha.

Anyways, still dicking around Skyrim. Going to go see Gelebor now and then cry my eyes out because he's such a sweetheart and I hate that I kill his brother and hate his stupid brother and how lonely he is and ahhhhhhh Gelebor oh goooddd you poor thing why can't I try and make you at least a place to sleep???

I wouldn't worry too much about having a small, "incomplete" collection. Most people refer to their smaller collections as "side collections"... which doesn't necessarily mean they are less important! You can have any reason to only want a Pokémon as a side collection, and no one will question it, or think any bad of you just because you're not hardcore collecting something. Just get whatever you like, and you will be fine :D

(also, to be honest, I personally think that more casual collections are the healthiest; being a completionst can give you headaches, bitter feelings, and anxiety among other things... not to mention it's of course healthier for your wallet as well!)

That is true. And it would be easier on my wallet (not to mention it is rather nerve-wracking trying to keep up a collection). I do enjoy Garchomp but spending $30 on flats and that isn't my ideal choice of using my money, especially when the cards really are worth fifty cents.

Thanks Hawlucha :D

I almost wanted to go hardcore with collecting sailor Jupiter at one time lol. If I were to cosplay her, I wouldn't have to get contacts or change my hair/get a wig because I look just like her naturally. I feel close to her in that sense and that's why I'd want to collect her toys, dolls etc.

AND GELEBORRRR OMG HES MY BB TOO ASDFDDSAD. He gives me too many feelings...just to many ;-;

SAILOR JUPITER IS THE BEST SENSHI OKAY PPL. Seriously, I love Makoto, she is such a cutie. If a figure comes out of her, I want it because she is amazing ghfhfhjhf. But yeah, Sailor Moon merchandise is harder to get than the actual Elder Scrolls. I was hoping with the new series there would be more stuff...

I don't think there's a right and wrong way to collect. You collect what you want and who you want (and sometimes how much).

I started off going casual and it went from there.. Now I have a room full of Altarias that I didn't mean to have. Oops. q.q

But Altaria is so cute! Especially the ultra fluffy mega evolution!

And yes, I suppose there is no right and wrong way to collect. I mean, I have a lot of stuff I really, really, really want but realistically I cannot afford it right now. Waiting isn't bad!
